Sobre los proyectos<\/strong><\/p>

‘Vivir en Zona fue transformador en mi caso y la casa termin\u00f3 habitando en m\u00ed. Lo que m\u00e1s llam\u00f3 mi atenci\u00f3n desde el principio fue la luz que ingresa a la casa, como si nunca se apagase, como as\u00ed tambi\u00e9n los objetos que habitan org\u00e1nicamente la casa: una especie de Castillo Vagabundo de Hayao Miyazaki, pero con huellas de obras de artistas en cada porci\u00f3n de la casa. El ba\u00f1o y sus mujeres que te observan desde la puerta y detr\u00e1s del espejo. Los cuencos de cer\u00e1mica esmaltados, las recetas en las paredes de las residentas de Jordania, el patio y su mural de un joven leyendo un libro. <\/em><\/p>

A medida en que pasaban los d\u00edas, los relatos de Lucrecia de c\u00f3mo fueron form\u00e1ndose esas obras reconstru\u00edan una nueva casa en mi mente, otra imagen de la casa: una casa imaginada. En los 10 d\u00edas que viv\u00ed all\u00ed intent\u00e9 hacer uso del tiempo provechosamente. Pasaba las ma\u00f1anas escribiendo, meditando sobre el arte, mis formas de expresi\u00f3n, mis h\u00e1bitos. Y tambi\u00e9n sobre la din\u00e1mica que se generaba con las otras residentas, el barrio, Lucrecia y las mujeres imaginarias que son muy reales y trabajan con ella en Zona. Despu\u00e9s de plasmar mis reflexiones, me trasladaba al taller donde comenc\u00e9 probando con distintos tipos de materiales para obtener fluidos de distinta composici\u00f3n y densidades.<\/em><\/p>

Mi intenci\u00f3n era trabajar sobre el concepto de mutaci\u00f3n utilizando mi medio expresivo que es la fotograf\u00eda en blanco y negro. Para ello tom\u00e9 como referencia el libro del I Ching, ancestral or\u00e1culo chino que me sirvi\u00f3 de gu\u00eda y fue como un pase a otra dimensi\u00f3n. Porque animada por las chicas del barrio, Mail\u00e9n, Lara y Candela, me decid\u00ed a abrir una sesi\u00f3n de Consulta al I Ching al p\u00fablico. La condici\u00f3n era el intercambio de un objeto que me traiga fortuna por una interpretaci\u00f3n de un hexagrama para conocer tu destino. Conocer a Magdalena fue fundamental para descifrar mis propias mutaciones que experiment\u00e9 durante mi estad\u00eda. Sent\u00ed que con sus vasijas y el torno, ella moldeaba en simult\u00e1neo un vac\u00edo latente. Supongo que para que algo cambie, primero tiene que existir un vac\u00edo, algo intangible y no s\u00e9 si tambi\u00e9n, algo escondido.<\/em><\/p>

Vivir en la casa, sin dudas, me cambi\u00f3. Entrar por primera vez y habitar un espacio, apropiarlo, dejar un rastro. La mutaci\u00f3n del espacio y la mutaci\u00f3n de uno con el espacio. El I Ching dice que el cielo representa el tiempo y la tierra representa el espacio. Siento que eso es Zona: tiempo y espacio. Una especie de f\u00f3rmula alqu\u00edmica para la creaci\u00f3n’.<\/em><\/p>

About the projects<\/strong><\/p>

Living at Zona Imaginaria was a transformational experience and the house wound up inhabiting me. My attention was drawn to the way light filters into the house, as if it were never turned off, its effects on the objects that organically inhabit it, the impressions works have left in every corner, the bathroom and the women who observe you from the door and behind the mirror, the glazed ceramic pots, Ola Khalidi and Diala Khasawnih\u2019s recipes on the walls, the patio and its mural by Ana Vogelfang of a young man reading a book. As the days go by, Lucrecia\u2019s accounts of how each one of these works came into being constructed a new house for me, an imagined house.<\/span><\/p>

During my stay, time was my tool. I would write in the morning, meditating on art and my forms of expression. My intention was to work on the concept of mutation in black and white photography. Accordingly, I took the book of <\/span>I Ching<\/span><\/i>\u2014the ancestral Chinese oracle\u2014as a reference, which I used as a guide. With encouragement from Maile\u0301n, Lara and Candela, girls from the neighborhood, I decided to open a session of consulting the <\/span>I Ching<\/span><\/i> to the neighborhood. This was on the condition that an object would be exchanged in return for the service rendered, which consisted of interpret- ing a hexagram to find out what destiny has in store.<\/span><\/p>

Living in the house undoubtedly changed me: entering for the first time and inhabiting a space, appropriating it, leaving traces. The space changed as did I along with it. The <\/span>I Ching<\/span><\/i> says: \u2018the sky represents time and the earth represents space\u2019. I think about Zona Imaginaria from this standpoint: time and space, an alchemy formula of sorts for creation. <\/span><\/em><\/p>

Dannisa Chalfoun.<\/strong> Nac\u00ed en la provincia de Tucum\u00e1n el 24 de Octubre de 1986. Desde peque\u00f1a me apasionaron las ciencias exactas. Estudi\u00e9 Ingenier\u00eda en Materiales en Buenos Aires y gracias a mi carrera descubr\u00ed la Microscop\u00eda. Dada mi fascinaci\u00f3n con la imagen y su informaci\u00f3n, decid\u00ed estudiar fotograf\u00eda.
