Sobre los proyectos<\/strong><\/p>

Betweening<\/strong>\u00a0es una narraci\u00f3n de fotogramas realizados en C\u00f3rdoba, Amman, Nueva Inglaterra y San Fernando. Postales nunca-enviadas, sombras desplazadas que intentan un reconocimiento: el Silencio del encuentro, la calma de una despedida.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Hogar de Retiro<\/strong><\/p>

\u201cDurante m\u00e1s de una d\u00e9cada, ensay\u00e9 retratos de impermanencia. Acompa\u00f1ada por mis mu\u00f1ecas miopes, practic\u00e1bamos el viaje como constante traducci\u00f3n de una herida. Despu\u00e9s de sucesivos episodios, present\u00ed llamados a la permanencia.\u202fLa\u202f<\/em><\/span>Casa\u202finvita. Un transe\u00fante aprecia la posta.\u202fZona Imaginaria\u202fse presenta como un perfecto\u202fHogar de Retiro\u202fpara una de las mu\u00f1ecas que me han acompa\u00f1ado en un extenso viaje, de Norte a Sur, de Occidente a Oriente, testigo solitario, protagonista de sombras[1]<\/a>. Este retiro de la vida en tr\u00e1nsito ciertamente implica un compromiso diferente con el espacio y la comunidad adoptiva. Yendo de la cama al living, de la cocina al ba\u00f1o o a la biblioteca, los Peque\u00f1os Aprendices,<\/a> visitantes y artistas residentes pasar\u00e1n frente a ella cada d\u00eda.\u202f Sergio Rojas, nuestro peque\u00f1o artista mecan\u00f3grafo, sensible a su presencia, ya le regal\u00f3 su primer poema.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>

Desde el 2009, esta mu\u00f1eca vive retirada en Zona Imaginaria. Cuando me fui, ella qued\u00f3 sola, su refugio desnudo. Hoy, en la distancia, me emociona observar la ‘humanidad’ de su adopci\u00f3n. \u202fGenerosamente, los\u202fPeque\u00f1os Aprendices\u202fhicieron\u202ftangible su casa en la Casa, la zona que tal vez siempre imagin\u00f3. Con materiales encontrados, le construyeron una cama, una mesa, sillas, sill\u00f3n, biblioteca y hasta un souvenir celebratorio del d\u00eda del amigo. Los ni\u00f1os dise\u00f1aron un colorido vestuario nuevo y una carterita para salir una vez m\u00e1s. Y as\u00ed, ella parti\u00f3 de visita a Nueva York[2]<\/a>\u202f\u202fpara compartir la nueva vida, instituida por los peque\u00f1os artistas de Villa Jard\u00edn. Siete a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s y de regreso en \u00b4casa\u2019, esta mu\u00f1eca invita a la reflexi\u00f3n sobre una traducci\u00f3n s\u00f3lo posible desde una Zona donde se diluyen las fronteras y se invita a un juego sin reglas<\/em>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

Retirement Home\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

For over a decade, I\u2019ve experimented with portraits of im- permanence. Accompanied by my short-sighted dolls, we have practiced travel as a constant process of translating a wound. Following a series of episodes, I sensed calls to per- manence. The house invites. Someone just passing through appreciates a place to stay. Zona Imaginaria presents itself as the perfect retirement home for one of the dolls that has accompanied me on a long trip from North to South and from West to East; a solitary witness, protagonist of sha- dows [Betweening & Entrenoscopios]. This retirement from a life in transit implies a different kind of commitment to the space and the adoptive community. Going from the bed to the living room [translator\u2019s note: in Spanish, \u201cYendo de la cama al living\u201d, quoting a popular album and song title by Charly Garci\u0301a], from the kitchen to the bathroom or library, Los Pequen\u0303os Aprendices, visitors and resident artists will pass in front of her every day. Sensitive to her presence, our young typist and artist Sergio Rojas presented her with her first poem as a gift.<\/span><\/p>

This doll has been living in retirement at Zona Imagina- ria since 2009. When I left she was left alone, her refuge stripped bare. Looking back today, it is moving to see how much \u2018humanity\u2019 there has been in her adoption. Los Peque- n\u0303os Aprendices generously made her house within the hou- se tangible, perhaps the very zone she had always imagined. Using found materials, they built her a bed, a table, chairs, a couch, a bookcase and even a souvenir to celebrate Friends\u2019 Day. The children designed a new, colorful wardrobe for her and a little handbag for going out again. And so she left for New York on a visit [Toys & Games with a Twist. Longwood Art Gallery @ Hostos College] to share the new life that the young artists in Villa Jardi\u0301n had given her. Seven years later, back \u2018home\u2019 again, this doll invites reflection on a translation that is only possible in a Zona where boundaries dissolve and all are invited to play a game that has no rules.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
