Grabado con placas solares<\/strong><\/p>

I\u2019m not sure there is a residency that could have been a better match for me than Zona Imaginaria. When I found Zona online, it had all the criteria I was looking for in a potential residency site. A focus on non-toxic printmaking, which I had been interested in applying to my work for some time. Ties to the community, including free art programs for the neighborhood youth – similar to the art therapy nonprofit where I work at home. And all this in a working-class neighborhood, the type of setting that is the principal inspiration for my work.<\/em><\/p>

When I arrived, I found that Zona was everything I expected and more. Lucre, Mili, and Naty were incredibly helpful and supportive, and made my transition to life in Argentina easy. There is a great sense of community at Zona, with other artists and the neighborhood kids coming and going through the studios. This community and the interaction between it made for a wonderful dialogue and exchange of ideas.<\/em>
The interactive aspect of Zona proved especially rewarding when working on my project, which consisted of making solar etchings and relief prints of the Villa Jardin neighborhood. This was my first time doing non-toxic, solar printmaking, and it proved to be as much of a learning experience for me as for the people who attended my workshop. We had a good turnout, and I was pleased with the attentiveness and enthusiasm of the group, which was comprised mostly of youth from the neighborhood. Their eagerness to learn is something that I hope to always take with me on my travels and never forget.<\/em><\/p>

No estoy seguro de que haya una residencia mejor para m\u00ed que Zona Imaginaria. Cuando me enter\u00e9 de Zona en l\u00ednea, ten\u00eda todos los criterios que estaba buscando en un sitio potencial de residencia. Un enfoque en el grabado no t\u00f3xico, que hab\u00eda estado interesado en aplicar a mi trabajo durante alg\u00fan tiempo. Lazos con la comunidad, incluidos los programas de arte gratuitos para los j\u00f3venes del barrio – similar a la terapia de arte sin fines de lucro en la que trabajo en casa. Y todo esto en un barrio de clase obrera, el tipo de ajuste que es la principal inspiraci\u00f3n para mi trabajo. Cuando llegu\u00e9, me encontr\u00e9 con que Zona era todo lo que esperaba y m\u00e1s. Lucre, Mili y Naty eran incre\u00edblemente serviciales y me apoyaron, e hicieron que mi transici\u00f3n en Argentina sea mucho mas f\u00e1cil. Hay un gran sentido de comunidad en Zona, con otros artistas y los ni\u00f1os del barrio que van y vienen a trav\u00e9s de los estudios. Esta comunidad y la interacci\u00f3n entre lo hacen para un di\u00e1logo maravilloso y el intercambio de ideas. El aspecto interactivo de Zona result\u00f3 especialmente gratificante cuando trabajando en mi proyecto, que consist\u00eda en hacer grabados solares e impresiones del barrio Villa Jard\u00edn. Esta fue mi primera vez haciendo no t\u00f3xico, grabado solar, y result\u00f3 ser tanto de una experiencia de aprendizaje para m\u00ed como para las personas que asistieron a mi taller. Tuvimos una buena participaci\u00f3n, y yo estaba satisfecho con la atenci\u00f3n y el entusiasmo del grupo, que se compone principalmente de los j\u00f3venes del barrio. Su deseo de aprender es algo que espero tener siempre conmigo en mis viajes y nunca olvidar.<\/em><\/p>
